The Lori Bed
From our family to yours, the Lori Bed is fairly priced and built to last.
We are the only Murphy Bed company on the market that has successfully eliminated the complex, cumbersome lifting mechanisms found in traditional Murphy Beds. The result is a lighter, smarter, safer, and more efficient product.
But the real magic is in the wood.
Our bed is made from 100% PEFC certified, plantation-grown poplar, sourced from the Spanish heartlands in collaboration with Garnica – the world’s number one supplier of sustainable plywood.
Logs are carefully selected according to maturity, straightness, and roundness.
These logs are then debarked…peeled…cut…stacked in thin strips of plywood…glued together with a formaldehyde free binding solution and cured in a hot press machine for ideal thickness.
Once dry, the panels are trimmed…sanded…finished with a chemical free, UV resistant compound…and promptly sent to our manufacturer in Michigan, U.S.A., where they are processed and packaged, along with all the necessary hardware, in recyclable cardboard and safely stored for shipment.
The Lori Bed ships by common ground courier, to mitigate transit damage, and will arrive on your doorstep in two packages.
Inside these packages you’ll find:
- Lightweight poplar panels for the cabinet and mattress platform
- Polished nickel hinges for the adjustable headboard
- Polished nickel locks to firmly secure the mattress platform to the cabinet
- Mattress strap anchors to keep your mattress in place
- All the necessary connecting hardware, i.e., screws, bolts, fasteners
- And detailed step by step assembly instructions
All the pilot holes are pre-drilled, so the only tools required to build the Lori Bed are a screwdriver, a mallet, and a wrench.
We’ve determined that the process from unboxing to full assembly should take you no more than an hour – even less in good company.
Which means that, in hardly no time at all, you can be on your way to creating the multi-purpose space of your dreams.
Please note that while most mattresses work with the Lori Bed, we recommend conventional inner-spring or latex foam mattresses, no heavier than 80lb for Queen and 50lb for twin, and no thicker than 12”.

After I ordered my Lori Wall Bed, the three boxes of parts arrived within a few days at my house. The contents were well-packed. The parts from boxes 2 and 3 were immaculate. Very nice quality and no scratches. Unfortunately, box 1 must have suffered some trauma during the trip, because even though I couldn't tell from the outside, the Styrofoam protection was damaged inside and all the boards were badly smushed in one of the corners.
I reached out to the Support team to see what options I had, and they immediately sent a box with replacements for the damaged pieces my way, even though it was not their fault. I was very impressed!
The replacement box arrived only a couple of days later and this time immaculate pieces inside as well. Every board and every baggie of screws was well-labelled. With the provided assembly video and the step-by-step instructions, I was able to assemble the entire bed in a few hours, and I only needed my son's help once in a while to turn components over or move them. The pieces all fit together perfectly, and all the holes aligned just right. The bed feels very sturdy and solid.
I had opted for the walnut finish, and it looks gorgeous. They even applied edge banding to the exposed board edges. Thank you so much, Lori Wall Beds, as I now reclaimed a room that was formerly permanently occupied by the guest bed and now turned into a little home gym while we have no guests over!
I’ve wanted a wall bed for years now and with the addition of a new baby to the family, I was finally motivated to get one. I needed to have a functional room that could not only operate as a nursery, but also as an office and backup guest room. The price didn’t break the bank and the how to video made assembly straightforward.
Great option for our guest/office. Instructions were easy to follow, definitely make sure you have the right tools and a partner to help. Painting the unfinished wood only needed one coat white and two for color.
This product is fantastic. Besides being functional and adorable, it is probably the best deal, dollar-for-dollar. I bought a vertical twin bed kit for my guest bedroom/office. The vertical kit saves on floor space which is at a premium in the small-ish room, and allows for an additional desk, two dressers and a shelving unit. The pieces are so very well made and very strong (15 chonky layers of laminate wood with a gorgeous top wood layer). I bought the unfinished kit and did a quick matte varnish on top, with light finish sanding and it looks and feels beautiful. The instructions are so well written and thought-out, with helpful suggestions and this great "you can do it" vibe. It was so encouraging and affirming to build this kit (I did it alone, carefully, at my own pace). The kit came with more than enough hardware in case you drop a screw or two. One note is that you will want to have a reliable drill (cordless or other) which you trust and enjoy using. That's all you need - you can do this! I know you can! This bed is awesome!
I bought this for my daughter who had been sleeping on her couch. She was able to put it together by herself following the clear instructions which came with and now loves it! (So does her 8 year old daughter, who decided to trade beds with her!
I wanted to turn my spare room into an office and guest bedroom. I liked the design and cost of Lori Wall Beds. When it came to assembly, the pieces were all super clearly labeled. I used the YouTube video walkthrough to build - which is detailed and helpful. Looks great!
If you’re looking for a sturdy Murphy bed that will allow your guest to be comfortable, this is the bed for you. I went with this bed because many of my guest don’t feel comfortable on a Murphy bed that has the mechanisms that pull the bed back into the wall. Krazy but true. This bed is solid and comfortable. It does require two people to put it together. I did it myself but would have liked to have had another person to assist. Because of it being solid it does have weight, it may take two people to put it back in the cabinet. I am happy with my purchase.
The online videos were a BIG help! I do wish the hardware was a bit better because several of the screw heads were easily stripped out due to the style of head on them. I think a cross pattern, like with deck screws, would be much better. But the construction is solid and they look great in our boys' room!
Absolutely love it. We purchased the unfinished and put a polyethylene clear stain water base to bring out the natural wood and it turned out beautiful!
