This Lori Bed has turned out very well! I watched the video installation directions and they were very helpful. The bed has saved us so much room in our now usable guest bedroom!
The Lori Wallbed is well made and easy to assemble. It is a great addition to our cottage.
Although I have long wanted a wall bed, I didn’t really NEED one and they are so EXPENSIVE! The time came that I did need one so I searched again. I was so pleased to find an alternative to the crazy high cost of other wall beds. The wall bed came just as described. I was able to assemble it (with a second person) fairly easily. I appreciate the cut-out for the baseboard that enables the bed to fit flush against the wall without extra work.
It does not look “cheap” at all because it is real wood. It looks great and its visual simplicity is perfect for my small room.
The only issue I had was in placing and screwing in the locking mechanism. I was not able to place the lock as precisely as instructed because you are screwing into an edge that is composed of layered wood.
Keep in mind that there is no hardware that assists with raising and lowering. This is not the wall bed for you if you are alone or need to raise and lower the bed frequently. You raise and lower the weight of the mattress plus the wood base with your own strength.
Not for someone who wants fancy or easy to lift and lower. Perfect for someone who wants an inexpensive, visually clean, solid piece that will last.
This is a solid piece of furniture, at a spectacular price. It arrived quickly too. I put it all together (by myself) in an afternoon. It really is nice looking also. I stained the wood before putting it together. If you plan on staining or painting your bed, it would be easier to do before assembling. I needed a spare bed for a room that I am turning into my art studio, but I didn’t want to lose the floor space. It is perfect.
It is rather heavy. I can muscle it up and down by myself, however, it would be easier to do with another set of hands.
Lori wall beds is a great solution to optimize your space! There are so many wall beds out there on the market that are made of poor materials and have insufficient instructions. The lori wall bed was easy to build and looks great when completed. It gives our home and extra room now when we don’t have guests over.
We were looking for a bed that could be hidden away most of the time, but used when we had company in our small condo. This is the perfect solution! My husband and I assembled it - some tasks would have been difficult to do alone. It was fairly easy - definitely watch the online video so you have a better idea of what to expect. We wished that the wood would have had labels so we were confident that we were using the correct pieces - especially at the very beginning.
Because of a new remote working arrangement with my job, I needed to turn my spare room into an office. Not wanting to lose sleeping space for guests, I began a search for a Murphy bed. I was initially discouraged by the prices I was seeing. Then I found the Lori Wall Beds website and I went from discouraged to skeptical. How could this one be so much less expensive than all the others?
But after reading every single review, I decided to buy the Lori Wall Bed. I bought the unfinished, full/queen size, horizontal bed and I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!
1. EASY! I put this together in less than two hours with the help of my boyfriend.
2. The video, while not exact to my bed, was well done and easy to follow. I played it on my computer so I could pause it while I put the bed together.
3. The downloadable directions were spot on - I printed them and followed them along with the video as I worked.
I have a lot of original hardwoods in my home and I wanted to finish this to match my floors and trim. The only mistake I made is that I should have stained and finished the bed BEFORE putting it together. But I didn't, so I bought a Gel Stain which is really good for staining vertical surfaces. I've included pictures, and while I'm no professional, I think it turned out pretty well.
I do agree with other reviewers in cautioning about it being heavy. I'm able to put it up and down by myself, but I don't recommend it. It's quite heavy, but because I'm using it for guests, I won't ever need to put it up and down by myself.
Thank you Lori Wall Beds for providing an affordable, efficiently designed and ultimately beautiful piece of functional furniture :)
I would recommend this bed to anyone looking to maximize space in a little used guest or spare room.
We recently purchased your Queen size Lori Wall Bed, and are very pleased. My 3 sons and I had a nice father and son's project while being able to add the murphy bed we always wanted. Thank you for the easy to understand installation video and detailed instruction e-booklet. We are very happy with our purchase and appreciate how easy it was to put together!
We are super happy with our bed, it even shipped to Canada with no problems! It’s the perfect size for our spare bedroom / gym / office space. I initially planned to build myself because it looks simple, but ended up hiring a handyman to build it. It took him under 3 hours. It’s too heavy for me to open and close by myself anyways, probably due to my petite height. But at least the weight attests to the quality of the bed! We put felt pads on the bottom edge to protect our floors when opening/closing.
