Lori Beds are designed to be simple to install, assembly typically takes 4 to 6 hours for one person working alone with no prior building experience. But it may be easier and more efficient to outsource the task.
TaskRabbit can find a handyperson (called a “Tasker”) anywhere around the country to assemble the bed for you. It is simple to make an appointment. Here is a step-by-step guide for using TaskRabbit to help you assemble your Murphy bed.
Step One: Getting Started with TaskRabbit
Signing up and getting started with TaskRabbit is quick and simple, even if you're not a technology wizard. Visit www.taskrabbit.com or download the mobile app on your smart device. The home screen will prompt you to select a category from available tasks. Select “assemble furniture" from the list for Murphy bed installation.
Step Two: Answering the Short Questionnaire
From there, you’ll enter in your street address, or the address where the project will be completed. That will lead you to the “Your Items” section with a multiple-choice question asking, “What type of furniture do you need assembled or disassembled?” There are three answer options. Choose “Other furniture items (non-IKEA).”
The “Task Options” section is next. Answer the first question, “How big is your task?” by selecting “Large Est +4 hours.” Since your ready-to-install Lori Bed is delivered directly to your doorstep, select “not needed for task” for the second question about vehicle requirements.
Step Three: Describe your Task (A Done-For-You Guide)
You’ll be prompted to enter a description for your task. Communication is key. Writing a detailed task description will ensure you are being matched with the Tasker. You can copy-paste this text as your answer:
“You are assembling a Murphy bed. Assembly instructions are available at https://www.loriwallbeds.com/pages/assembly. Please watch the assembly video before beginning assembly to ensure you fully understand each step in the process. Make sure you bring a cordless power drill with standard bits to the task.”
Note:In the description section, make sure you include the size/orientation of the Lori Bed you’ve ordered. This will ensure your Tasker downloads and uses the correct assembly instructions. Also clarify if you plan to attach the bed directly into a brick or concrete wall. In that case, you will need to provide a proper anchoring system, as it doesn’t come included in the box.
Some other details to include in this section could are whether you or someone else (or pets) will be present during the task, any tools/materials you already have for the task, any budget or time constraints, or contactless preferences.
Step Four: Selecting your Tasker
From here, there are only a few more steps to decide which Tasker you prefer. TaskRabbit will provide a list of skilled labors that have the know-how to assemble your Murphy bed.
Taskers profiles include their rate, experience/expertise, and reviews from TaskRabbit users. You can also sort by number of tasks the Taskers have completed, their rates, and the number of reviews they’ve received.
Furthermore, you can select the date and time you need the task to be complete. Taskers undergo ID and criminal background checks. After you choose your Tasker and confirm the details of the project, you're ready to kick back and relax while the assembly is done for you.
Tips on Communicating with Your Tasker

Here are some pro tips for communicating with your Tasker from TaskRabbit.
Once a Tasker has accepted the task, you can use the chat thread to follow up, ask and answer questions or share photos. For your furniture assembly, use the chat to confirm the item has been delivered and there are no issues with the product prior to assembly.
You can also use the chat thread to easily reschedule or rebook tasks. If you simply need to reschedule, just let the Tasker know in the chat thread and they can do it for you.
If you determine that you don’t want to proceed for any reason, TaskRabbit encourages you to explain why in the chat thread and cancel the task as soon as possible. This will free up the Tasker’s schedule and enable you to search for a different Tasker.
